Was able to go to the Ogden Temple today as a group. What a beautiful temple. Reminded me so much of the Payson Temple. Makes me wonder if the Cedar City Temple will be somewhat on that order. It will be so great to have one so close.  I love the peace I always get at the Temple. I love working there and will be looking forward to doing just that come September.
Tried to take a picture but it was pouring rain!  I can't believe how much rain this area is getting. It is so beautiful and green.  After the session, we went to lunch with the missionaries.  There is only two weeks before the first trek begins!  And I still can't walk very far.  Elder Petersen went for a walk when we got back and walked almost 3 miles. It is beautiful here.  I love it.

Went over to Flaming Gorge Dam today. Such a beautiful drive. Such a beautiful State.
Dad and I are having so much fun exploring.  Really love the expanse of Wyoming. You can look out at huge vistas of land and not see anything but Antelope. Of course Elder Petersen loves that.

Thought alot of how beautiful our country is and just so thankful for so many good men and women that serve and die to keep us free. So thankful I was taught that as a child and for the example of my parents in honoring their memory. My mother was so involved in the Fourth of July that I truly thought as a child, that she just ran everything in our little town of Delta growing up.  I love our country and I am so thankful my children are teaching their children the same thing.  That is very heartwarming.

Was able to go with Devin and Sarah and family and Amber and family today to the Payson Temple Open house.  It was fun to see all the grandkids.   That is one advantage of a Senior mission. You get to go to some family outings.  I watched Delila while they all went through. She was a good baby and we just sat in the church and waited. She loves to play and suck on your fingers. :)  It was great to see all the kids. Peter was excited to see the baptismal font. and Cooper had lost his two front teeth from a friend of his kicking him hard in the face while they were playing on the monkey bars the night before. He was a trooper and still wanted to come and see the Temple.
anyway, had a good time and Amber had to hurry home for a softball game for Erin so Sarah and family joined us for lunch.  Such darling grandkids we have!  All 37 of them!  love them all and miss them.

Devin and Sarah are in the process of moving to Henderson, Nevada this next Tuesday and will take Emelie to the Airport to fly out to California for the summer. She will be staying with Janl and Jason and working at Golf Land. She is excited!!~  Good luck to Devin and Sarah in their new adventure. He will be working in a hospital ER. That will give him alot more experience that's for sure!  He is an awesome nurse !!!!

Posting this here so that when they come back, i can remember their names. They are bringing 310 youth on June 30-July 3rd.  They are a fun group and will do a great job!

This past Sunday, May 17, We left after dinner and went to Fort Bridger. So interesting there!!!  I am going to post some pictures.  WE have been riding the trails where the trek support people will be. We went with a group yesterday that are learning the trail for their Stake. There trek is June 30-July 3.  They are from the Salt Lake area. the man and wife in charge if the food, are related to the Finlinson's in Oak City. in fact his cousin was my Science teacher in Junior high.  I love traveling around this area and seeing how beautiful it is

We had a tender mercy tonight. I noticed on my recent phone calls that Tinille called and tried to facetime today at 11:28 am. So I hit it and it called her. She answered and was in her car watching her kids.  She said she hadn't called me this morning at all?  What a wonderful time we had visiting and trying to figure out how it happened. Just knew that it was a blessing. She looked great. Love that Tini.  Dad and I were heading up to the trek center for a dutch oven dinner . But what a nice way to end the day. Seeing and talking to our beautiful Tinille.  Made us both cry and we would love to facetime the rest of our kids. We miss you all so much!

This morning Dad took me on one of the routes. He let me drive believe it or not! He is trying to teach me how to get around so I don't get lost and don't lead these trekking groups around and get them all lost!  Most of them are over 250+ youth and leaders. So since i am still having trouble walking, I will probably be driving the support truck and leading the leaders and all their equipment around. ' Our first trek is June 10th for 4 days. So that will be a terrifying time for me!  I hear once you go on the first one, you are good!
Our last trek is August 8 for four days I think.  Then we will be here for a while cleaning up, putting away the handcarts and getting them stored for the winter, meeting with next years groups and then home. whew. what a time. We have been having trouble with our water heater and had a service man from Evanston come out and check it and get it repaired. He told Dad -oops- Elder Petersen that he lives in a 5th wheel about this size and has been for 10 years!  Can't imagine that!  It is interesting getting dressed in the living room since the bedroom is too small~

9:30pm-  Just got back from the dutch oven dinner and fireside. so wonderful.  a group from Salt Lake that went on trek last summer came and put on a spiritual feast!  Not only was the food yummy, but the fireside afterwards was awesome. A non-member couple that went last year told their story of being on the trek as non-members. They felt the spirit during that trek of those pioneers and what they sacrificed, and met with the missionaries after going home and have now joined the church in November of last year. Their story is so wonderful. They were Catholics and she was out walking one day and she always prayed while she walked and she always ended her prayer  "in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. and then she just asked if she could please find out what significance the Holy Ghost has in her life. She just would like to know. She said it wasn't a week when she heard of this trek thing her friend was going on. So they decided to try it.  At the end of the trek, she said the missionaries came knocking on their door and after the first lesson, they went to church. Well the lesson in Relief Society was on the Holy Ghost.  It wasn't long before they were married (they had been living together for 20 years) and then were baptized. What a cute and special couple.  So fun to hear their story and hear of their conversion.
I love being on this mission and to be able to be fed spiritually so often.
We are going on a trek review tomorrow morning so I am going to bed right now.
The church is true, it really is. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ.

All the missionaries went to the Payson Utah Temple open house today. It was breathtaking. beautiful building. One of the guides there, was on this mission last year. She said that there were 22,500 people go through there Saturday alone!  Talk about organization. We went to the nearby church and had a video about the meaning of Temples and why we build them. and then they lead about 30 people at a time through. The Celestial room was exquisite !  I really have never seen a more beautiful building.
we then had lunch at the Temple and then went through a session at the Jordan River Temple. Elder Petersen and I were married there for time and eternity January 26, 1982 with six of our children. Robert and Sarah were born under the covenant. That was a special day. I still remember Lynette was my escort and Fraser was Elder Petersen's. Very special.    I am beginning to get the spirit of this mission. Now if my leg will just cooperate, i would be so happy!
On our way home, we stopped by Robert and Melanie's and surprised the girls. we gave them a small replica of a handcart. It was wonderful to see them.  Such cute girls. Both are getting very long hair. Love our grandkids and miss them. Tyler's kids called me on Mothers day and sang me a mothers day song. I then talked to each one of the kids. even Liesel.


Sunday the 10th of May we made another jaunt to Randolph, Wyoming. We found Wilford Woodruff's home. Beautiful place, but I understand it get's really cold in the winder.

Just so all my children know, you can call us any time. It's not like when the boys served. so give us a call so we can talk to yoi.

We woke up to snow this morning!  and it has been snowing all day!  I guess that is May in Wyoming!
It is so beautiful here though. We took a drive last Sunday and headed East of Evanston. Absolutely breathtaking!
so we tied 3 quilts to donate to the humanitarian effort. Since tomorrow is Mother's day we are having a turkey and we all go into the Sunday dinners and i of course made Gramma Moody's dressing.
Just wanted to talk about my mother at this point. She was a fun mom and a fantastic cook. I loved her dressing, cornbread,fried chicken, carmel popcorn balls, chilli, chocolate cake and so many other meals. She was very civic minded and patriotic. She told me once that she wore a pokadot dress the first time she voted. She totally dressed up to go vote. She was thrilled that she was old enough. She taught me to respect my country and love the servicemen that fought for our freedom. I would watch her always volunteering in so many places. She was a great example to me of service. I miss her.  Happy Mothers Day Mom

I am also so proud of my daughters and daughter in laws. What great Mothers. Thanks for being so loving and kind to your children. We love our grandchildren and think and pray for them every day.  We sure love you all!!!  Hope you lovely ladies have a wonderful day!!!

Went to a sports injury doctor today. I have been having so much trouble with my back and leg and have not been much use around the mission. We are trying to get ready for the treks. such as repairing and building new handcarts and porta pottys. This is a very physical mission and I was worried I wouldn't be in any condition to even help at all this summer. The Trek director here, Brother Cowen , fell off his trailer stairs last year and told me of a doctor in Provo that really helped him alot. I couldn't go to Tyler, so i just decided to find out what is wrong with me. After 4 xrays and consulting with him, he told me that I have injured my sciatic nerve. He gave me two cortisone shots and sent me home with some anti-inflamatory meds and some muscle relaxants. I feel alot better, but have to take it easy or I could have damage all of my life. So i am  doing my wash today. ( May 5) All I got to say is under any circumstances do not fall off of a ladder!!!!
Other than that, all is good.   Starting to getting used to being here and really hoping I can fulfill this mission as it is way hard!  I'm sure all missionaries feel this way. We are a very spoiled society. But I'm thankful for the time I was born.   The gospel is true, I know it!

Today has been a good day!  Simply because i have been able to go on some trek trails and try to figure some things out.  I'm not hurting as much and that has made all the difference.  I think it's going to be very challenging, but also very satisfying.  It is such a beautiful ranch with so many beautiful areas. WE had a group from Payson come this morning to look the trek over for their group. The trail boss had been on 7 treks to Martin's Cove. He told us this trek has alot more hills , but he thought it was beautiful here. All in all, I have had a great day. Elder Petersen is out on another excursion checking on another trek route. He is in his element.  :)    When I think of those brave pioneers and all they went through for the gospel's sake, it just makes me know that because of their faith and fortitude, we have what we do today. That is the reason for the treks. To help this generation know about sacrifice and obedience. It is such a testimony to me of the truthfulness of the gospel. I love those pioneers and it has been so wonderful to learn about the great effort they have all made.  The Gospel is true and I am thankful today to be part of it.
